We are now looking to recruit mental health support workers. A successful candidate will be providing care and support to people who live with long-term mental health conditions. This includes Schizophrenia, EUPD, Bipolar Disorder, and associated drug, substance, and alcohol-related issues. You will be providing support to vulnerable adults who have a neuropsychiatric diagnosis. Training & mentoring is offered

 

Rates of pay and benefits:

  • Competitive hourly rates: Days £10.00 per hour.
  • All induction and mandatory training is paid. This incorporates the Care Certificate if applicable.
  • Adult care worker qualifications offered at a level sited to you funded by Allerton Care.

Salary: £10.00 per hour

 

Key responsibilities of the Support Worker will include:

  • Administering medication and arranging medical appointments as required.
  • Encouraging and supporting individuals to maintain friendships and family links.
  • Using our note-taking system to provide handover staff with important information.
  • Involve and support the service users in the undertaking of household tasks as appropriate to the individual.
  • Assist in the development of Care & Support plans to reflect the lifestyles and choices of the people we support
  • Assist in monitoring people Health and Wellbeing, reporting any changes to the senior or designated person responsible
  • Undertake escort duties outside of the home, as required.

 

Essential skills:

  • Willing to have an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. This will be funded by Allerton.
  • Willingness to learn and undertake all mandatory training.
  • Good communication skills essential and able to work under own initiative.

 

The successful candidate will be a people-orientated individual who is passionate about delivering the highest standard of person-centred support. With a calming influence, you will be able to work under pressure, be responsive, and adapt quickly to changing requirements.

You will have an understanding of positive behaviour support and a proven ability to work in a person-centred way, ideally, with experience of providing support to individuals with mental health needs or behaviour that challenges.

 

COVID-19 considerations:

All staff are required to wear PPE and perform daily lateral flow tests. All staff to apply must be double vaccinated.
